AchillesGames – Refund Policy

This Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all purchases made on AchillesGames (achilles-games.com) operated by Thomas Sarratori d/b/a AchillesGames ("we," "us," or "our"). Our goal is to ensure a fair and transparent process for returns and refunds.
1. General Return & Refund Conditions
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the same condition that you received it, and in its original, unopened, and undamaged packaging.
All returns must be initiated within 30 calendar days from the date you received your item.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase (e.g., order number).
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer directly.
2. Specific Policies by Product/Service Type
2.1. Sealed Magic: The Gathering Products (e.g., Booster Pack, Boxes, Bundles, Preconstructed Decks) & Accessories (e.g., Sleeves, Dice, Playmats)
Eligibility: These items are eligible for return and refund if they meet the "General Return & Refund Conditions" (Section 1). Specifically, sealed products must remain sealed in their original manufacturer packaging. Opened sealed products (e.g., a booster box where the cellophane wrap has been broken) are not eligible for return or refund unless they arrived damaged or defective before opening (see Section 2.4).
Condition: Items must be returned in their original, resalable condition. Any signs of use, damage, or tampering will result in the denial of a refund.
2.2. "Rip or Ship" Services (Items Chosen for "Rip" Option)
No Refunds for Opened Product: By selecting the "Rip" option during checkout, you explicitly agree that all sales are final once the sealed product (e.g., booster pack, box) has been opened live on our designated Live Stream Platform, (e.g., Twitch, YouTube) on your behalf. The service of opening the pack and revealing its contents has been rendered.
Randomness Acknowledgment: You acknowledge that the contents of Magic: The Gathering sealed products are entirely random. Dissatisfaction with the cards pulled (e.g., not getting desired rares, specific cards, or high-value cards) does not qualify for a refund or exchange of the opened product.
Ownership Transfer: Once the pack is opened on stream, the individual cards inside become your property. Our refund policy for these cards applies only to issues arising after the opening process (e.g., shipping damage).
2.3. Mystery Boxes & Random Assortments
By purchasing a "Mystery Box" or any product designated as a "Random Assortment" on our site, you acknowledge and agree to the following specific terms:
Random Contents: The contents of Mystery Boxes are entirely random and are not predetermined to include any specific card, pack, rarity, or item. Each box is assembled with a focus on providing a diverse and surprising experience.
No Guarantees of Value: We make no guarantee, representation, or warranty that the monetary or collectible value of the contents of any Mystery Box will meet or exceed the purchase price of the box. The value of items, especially collectible cards, can fluctuate rapidly based on market conditions.
No Guarantees of Specific Items: You will not receive specific cards, sets, or types of products unless explicitly stated otherwise in the individual product description for that specific Mystery Box.
All Sales Final (for Contents): Due to the random and surprise nature of Mystery Boxes, dissatisfaction with the specific contents received (e.g., not pulling a desired card, receiving cards you already own, or perceiving the value of contents to be less than the purchase price) does not qualify for a refund, return, or exchange of the Mystery Box or its individual contents.
Damaged/Defective Items within Box: If any individual sealed pack or accessory within a Mystery Box arrives damaged or defective from the manufacturer, our standard policy for damaged goods (as outlined in Section 2.4 of the general policy, or a dedicated "Damaged/Defective Items" subsection) will apply to that specific damaged item, provided it is reported within the specified timeframe and meets eligibility criteria.
2.4. Damaged or Defective Items (Pre-Ship or During Shipping)
Sealed Products/Accessories: If you receive a sealed product or accessory that is damaged upon arrival before opening, or is defective from the manufacturer, you must notify us within 14 days of delivery. We may require photographic evidence of the damage. We will assess the damage and, at our discretion, offer a replacement, refund, or store credit upon return of the damaged item.
Opened "Rip" Cards: While "Rip" sales are final once opened, if the cards received from a "Rip" service are significantly damaged during the shipping process from us to you, please contact us within 14 days of delivery with photographic evidence. We will review on a case-by-case basis and may offer a partial refund or other compensation at our discretion, depending on the extent of the damage. Minor cosmetic imperfections inherent to card manufacturing are not considered damage.
3. How to Initiate a Return
Contact Us: To initiate a return, please contact our customer support team at tom@achilles-games.com or through our contact page at Contact Us.
Provide Information: Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, the reason for the return, and, for damaged/defective items, clear photographs of the issue.
Return Authorization: We will review your request and, if eligible, provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and instructions on how and where to send your item(s) back. Do not send items back without an RMA number, as they may not be processed.
4. Return Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your eligible item(s). Shipping costs are non-refundable.
For your protection, we recommend using a trackable shipping service and/or purchasing shipping insurance, especially for higher-value items. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
If the return is due to our error (e.g., you received the wrong item or a damaged item initially), we will cover the return shipping costs or provide a pre-paid shipping label.
5. Refund Process
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within 14 business days.
Late or Missing Refunds: If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at tom@achilles-games.com.
6. Exchanges
We generally do not offer direct exchanges. If you need a different item, we recommend returning your original item for a refund (if eligible) and placing a new order for the desired item. Exchanges for damaged/defective items will be handled as part of the damage claim process (Section 2.4).
7. Non-Refundable Items/Services
The following items/services are explicitly non-refundable:
Opened sealed Magic: The Gathering products (after "Rip" service is performed or physical seal is broken).
Custom Built Commander Decks
Digital products (e.g., codes, digital downloads).
Gift cards.
Items not in their original condition, damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Items returned more than 30 days after delivery.
Shipping costs from the original purchase.
8. Changes to This Refund Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
